ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Entertainment Television formally announced that the Primetime King, Coco Martin, will topbill the TV adaptation of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” The announcement was made during the press conference at ABS-CBN last May 18, 2015, Monday. Present in the said event were ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio, FPJ’s wife Susan Roces and the rest of the cast led by Coco Martin, Albert Martinez, Arjo Atayde, Bela Padilla, Angeline Quinto, Agot Isidro and Jaime Fabregas. The teleserye will be directed by Malu Sevilla and Avel Supangco (who also directed Coco Martin in Juan De La Cruz and Ikaw Lamang) and is slated to air soon in ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
Right after the official announcement, Coco Martin started training and preparing for his role as a policeman. He trains in Philippine National Police Academy in Silang, Cavite and in different locations.
Accompanied by known actor, stuntman and director, Val Iglesias, Coco Martin trains almost every other day. Their training ranges from mix martial arts, boxing to modern arnis.

He was also trained by Val Iglesia’s friend in handling different guns in a firing range.
In the Philippine National Police Academy in Silang, Cavite, Coco Martin does further meticulous PNP training. He is joined by Arjo Atayde, John Medina, Lester Llansang, Art Acuña, and Director Avel Sunpongco.
