Coco Martin was acknowledged by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards or FAMAS through the special award “Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award”. The 63rd Famas Awards night was held in Newport Performing Arts Theater last September 20, 2015, Sunday, with the theme “Throw Back Glam Day… A Look Back at Six Glorious Decades’ of Philippine Cinema”
Though Coco Martin was not able to personally attend the awards night due to prior commitments, his manager, Mr. Biboy Arboleda, accepted the award in his behalf.
The Primetime King was also able to express his sincerest gratitude to the aforementioned award-giving body for the recognition.
He was filled with gratitude when he shared his appreciation in the grand press conference of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, “Syempre po, unang una, gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa FAMAS.
Right after Coco’s speech, Susan Roces positively added and validated, “Ang karangalang yan (Fernando Poe Jr. Memorial Award) ay mula nung pumanaw si FPJ. Congratulations, Coco.”
Coco Martin and Kris Aquino’s movie, “Feng Shui 2”, also won two technical awards for Best Editing – Carlo Francisco Manatad and Best Sound – Addiss Tabong.
