MANILA – “Ang Probinsyano” is a ratings beast.
For a seventh consecutive day, the ABS-CBN program breached 40% in nationwide ratings, according to a Kantar Media panel size that represents 100% of the Philippine TV viewing population.
On Friday, the Kapamilya network announced that the October 15 episode of “Ang Probinsyano” registered a national television rating of 42.9%, beating its previous record of 42.6% set last October 8.
“Ang Probinsyano,” which is produced by Dreamscape,” stars Coco Martin, Maja Salvador, Bela Padilla, Arjo Atayde, Jaime Fabregas, and Susan Roces. It is a television adaptation of a Fernando Poe Jr. film of the same name.
Meanwhile, the afternoon drama “Pasion de Amor” also broke its own record, garnering a national television rating of 29.2%. The October 15 episode is now the most watched television program in the 6 p.m. timeslot for 2015.
Other primetime offerings “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” and “On the Wings of Love” posted similar success. Both shows managed to maintain its overwhelming lead over rival programs such as “Beautiful Strangers” and “My Faithful Husband.”
