‘Excited ako, kasi syempre ang ganda niya. At wala siyang boyfriend,’ says Coco of working with co-star Maja in the remake of the FPJ film
MANILA, Philippines – Maja Salvador is Coco Martin’s leading lady in Ang Probinsyano. After 4 long years, the CocoJam tandem is back in the much awaited Fernando Poe Jr TV remake.
In a taped message at the press conference for the show, Coco said that he has been looking forward to working with Maja again for a while. The two were last seen together on-screen in Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin (2011).
“Excited ako, kasi syempre ang ganda niya. At wala siyang boyfriend,” the actor joked. (I’m excited because of course, she’s beautiful. And she has no boyfriend!)
“Iba rin kasi si Maja kapag nagpapakilig. Minsan nga hindi mo na kailangan umarte kapag si Maja kaeksena mo kasi madadala at madadala ka.”
(Maja is different, the way she makes you feel. Sometimes you don’t really need to act when Maja is your scene partner, because you just get carried away.)
The actress was definitely surprised by her on-screen partner’s statement.
“Ibang-iba ‘yung ngiti ni Coco lalo nung sinabi niya, ‘wala siyang boyfriend,'” she said. (That smile is unique, the one Coco gave when he said I didn’t have a boyfriend.)
When asked if there were a possibility thay they would end up together in real life. Maja said that she’s keeping her doors open.
“Tingnan po natin,” she said. (Let’s see.)
Maja, however, was quick to add that dating is not her first priority.
“Naka-lock pa po kasi ‘yung puso ko ngayon. Trabaho po muna.
“Kasi lalo po ngayon mahirap po isingit sa taping ang landian…Mahirap po mag-landian habang nag-aaction kami.”
(My heart’s still on lockdown, work comes first. It’s harder to balance a relationship with tapings…it’s hard, especially when you’re shooting.)
Maja added that she is looking forward to doing another teleserye after the successful run of Bridges of Love. She shared that Coco was ecstatic when he found out that she agreed to do the project.
“Kakaiba ‘yung saya niya. Parang bata na nasurpresa na sobrang gustong gusto yung regalo.” (He was really happy, like a kid who’s been surprised with a gift he really likes.)
CocoJam, from 2011
CocoJam fans will surely be watching if Coco and Maja’s on-screen pair-up will result in a possible relationship. And of course, viewers loved their successful project in the past.
