MANILA – The morale of police officers in Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City was boosted when they watched the pilot episode of ABS-CBN’s remake of Fernando Poe Jr.’s “Ang Probinsyano” on September 28.
According to policemen, they enjoyed watching the scene wherein where Ador (Coco Martin) saved people from a man who attempted to bomb a moving train because it shows how a policeman answers the call of his duty even if it means putting his own life at risk.
SPO3 Anitonio Sambaan Jr. said that the drama series makes him feel proud of being a policeman.
Nostalgia also struck them as they recalled the intense training they went through in the police academy.
They are reminded that many want to become policemen, but only the toughest ones succeed.
Ador’s character also inspired them to do good and set examples for others, especially because some policemen are involved in scandals and criminal offenses.
They also said “Ang Probinsyano” is a good venue to showcase the better side of the police.
The policemen also thanked ABS-CBN for putting importance on the role of policemen in society.
