Five days after winning the “Safety Awareness TV Personality” in the Kung-gihan Awards 2016, the Idol ng Masa, Coco Martin, once again impressed and awed members of a distinguished award-giving body as he was again given an esteemed award. These recent reputable awards seem to be early birthday gifts for the the Primetime King as he nears his birthday.
Just last October 24, 2016, the 30th PMPC Star Awards for Television named Coco Martin as the “Best Drama Actor” for his primetime teleserye, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. It could be remembered that in the 28th PMPC Star Awards for Television, Martin also won the “Best Drama Actor” for his ABS-CBN Dreamscape primetime teleserye, Ikaw Lamang.
Due to a work commitment, the Idol ng Masa was not able to attend the awarding ceremony last Sunday. The FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano Production Manager, Ms. Dagang Vilbar, then accepted the award on his behalf.
Blessings heavily poured down for Coco Martin and the entire cast of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano as their award-winning primetime telserye was also named as the “Best Primetime Drama Series“.
With all of these unexpected heartwarming blessings, Coco Martin feels immensely thankful and deems the awards given to him as an inspiration to him and to the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano cast.
The 30th PMPC Star Awards for Television awards ceremony (also known as the integral part of the 2016 Star For M-TV Awards, with the theme The Fusion of Philippine Entertainment’s Best) coincided with the 63rd anniversary of the birth of Philippine television. The awards given to selected programs and personalities ranging from actors, actresses, hosts and news and current affairs personalities are given to those who made a mark in Philippine television in the past year. This is organized by the Philippine Movie Press Club, a non-profit organization whose members are entertainment writers and columnists from newspapers and online news sites.
