Primetime King and Kapamilya Heartthrob, Coco Martin, began his journey in valuing and serving the children two years ago via his hit teleserye, Juan Dela Cruz, with the ‘Juan Fun School Day’ project.
Now, he continues his commitment to the children and in highlighting the importance of education to them with the ‘Magical Summer Kids Day’. He was seen bonding, sharing stories and, playing with the kids of Little Lights Ministry in Pasig and Kuya Center for Street Children in Cubao last April 11, 2015. Together with the cast of Wansapanataym presents Yamishita’s Treasures, Julia Montes, Arron Villaflor, Marlann Flores and Alonzo Muhlach, the group gleefully participated in the activities mounted by Dreamscape and U! Happy Events for the kids of the said centers.
Coco Martin also engaged with the kids in various games and performances such as the bubble show, magic show, magic workshop, balloon twisting, etc. that the smiles and laughter from the kids were deemed to be priceless.
There were also messages from Harvard of U Happy Events, Brother Louie from Kuya Center and the kids thanking Dreamscape and the Wansapanataym cast for joining them in this endeavor and for visiting their centers.
Little Lights Ministry is an outreach endeavoring to nourish the body, mind and soul of every child and their love ones. They help them learn, be productive and be determined to live a righteous life in Jesus Christ. While, Kuya Center for Street Children transforms street children into becoming responsible citizens of God and society. They provide a home for street children where they feel accepted, respected and taken care of; protect, promote and promulgate the rights of the children leading them to become dignified and empowered.
U! Happy Events provides sustainable support and teaches values to marginalized children in the Philippines. They provide a platform for sponsors and volunteers to reach out to beneficiaries through creative and meaningful activities.
Through it all, Coco was more than happy and elated with the event that materialized that day. He also added that the kids will seem to treasure the moments with him and the Wansapanataym cast “… hanggang sa paglaki nila, hindi nila malilimutan yung araw na nagkaroon sila ng sobrang kaligayahan sa buhay nila..makabonding kami, makakwentuhan… at the same time, napasaya pa sila ng mga games at magic ng program..”
He was also thankful for the organizers for making this possible. “Sa lahat, nagpapasalamat (ako)..(sa Dreamscape) hindi lang makapagpaligaya ng mga manonood, (pati din) ang makapagpaligaya personally sa mga taong humahanga, sumusubaybay at sumusuporta sa amin kaya sobra sobra akong nagpapasalamat sa Dreamscape. Never nilang nakalimutan yung mga taong (sumusuporta sa amin). Maganda yung hangarin nila na makapagpasaya at makatulong sa kapwa..” Lastly, he did not forget to express his gratitude to the veiwers of Wansapanataym Presents: Yamishita’s Treasures for their continuous support for the show.
